Kickoff to another year in The Middle!

Tomorrow is the day we begin the journey of another school year!  I am looking forward to working collectively to make this year the best year for each of our students; both academically and developmentally!  I hope each of you had a great summer!  There was a lot of work happening here in the summer that has certainly prepared our building for what's to come.  When you see a custodian, please give them a shout-out for their hard work over the summer and a job well done!  Thanks Pam, Kristin, Marc, and Josh!

This is the first blog post of the year.  The goal of the blog to to communicate regularly all of the things that are happening in our school.  I will send out an email reminder each week to check it out.  The information posted is intended for everyone to read each week.

Welcome back, and I want to send a special welcome to our new team members!

Charlotte Reddeman - PE Teacher
Jennifer Hecht - Students w/Disabilities Teacher with an ELA focus
Molly Laufenberg - 7th/8th ELA Teacher
Anne Crawford - Art teacher
Debbie Jackson - Educational Assistant primarily in the main office
Laurie Glowac - Educational Assistant

I believe strongly that we have assembled a special staff that is poised to take our student's achievement to levels that have not yet been achieved in this school!

Check HERE to see more information about all of the district's new teachers.

PD Days
We have three great learning days planned for us when you return on Monday.  Here is the latest schedule and please bring the items that you are asked to bring.

Evacuation Site Visits
We will be visiting our evacuation sites on Tuesday afternoon.  We will meet at 1:00 p.m. in Mrs. Rogness' room and discuss the plan for the visit and our procedures in case we ever need to do this.  Please bring your Go-Kits with you and check to see if they are accurate.  A huge THANK YOU to Mrs. McFarlane for coming in and getting them ready for us.

Tornado Drill and Fire Drill Directions
We need to have these posted in all of our classrooms.  You should have received a new copy in your mailboxes and they need to be up by the Open House.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Also, please keep in mind that there are certain regulations that we must follow to meet fire safety code.  This does include rules for hanging items from the ceiling, stacking items up and the amount of paper on the walls.  Please ask if you have questions about how your room meets this code.

Staff Resources
The folders below contain a lot of resources that are vital to the day to day operations of the school.  Please take a moment to review the documents that are relevant to you.  Some of the documents are still in progress.

See you Monday!...maybe -on a personal note...the Pritzl baby was due this past Wednesday...she isn't here yet :)
