The article this week provides insight into what I think is the most critical parts for us to routinely facilitate successful experiences in the classroom no matter what the student roster looks like. One of my favorite former teachers/coaches, Mike Plemon, who I'd consider the reason I went into education, says it best..."Capture their heart, and you'll capture their mind". 5 Tips for Creating Real Rapport With Your Students
Staff Meeting on Monday 6/5
We will have a staff meeting on Monday (6/5) in Mrs. Anderson's room. We will review some final data, take a survey and celebrate many of our accomplishments from the school year.
Last Week of School Reminders
During this last week it's especially important that our guiding principles (each minute of class time is crucial for guiding students forward) hold true right up until the last minute of class on the last day of school. We treat the last day/week of school as if it was any other. We will run this Early Release Schedule on the last day of school with normal classes taking place. Students will be dismissed at 12:30 on Wednesday. I would like all middle school staff members to be out on the playground from 12:20 - 12:30, and then out by the buses afterwards to send our students off on a positive note.

End of Year Check-Out
On the last day of school all teachers must check out with me prior to leaving for the summer. Please use this DOCUMENT to sign up for a check-out time. HERE is a copy of the check-out sheet that will be reviewed during the check-out meeting. If you need a little extra time, please coordinate with me ahead of time.
